Franklin students participated in the annual 9/11 stair climb to honor victims during physical education classes on September 11 and 12, 2024.
Students started class by watching a documentary on 9/11 and discussed what they learned in a large group. Members of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department also joined in on the discussion.
Green Bay Metro also provided their equipment for students to wear during the climb to get an understanding of what first responders experienced.
Teachers, firefighters, Principal Lundin, Board of Education Trustee Rick Crosson, and a few parents joined the students on their climb.
Students climbed about 30 stairs continuously during class, leading to about 20,000 steps for their day.
