IB Learner Profile Trait (Communicators)
We express ourselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspective of other individuals and groups. How can you listen better to understand someone else’s ideas?

Food Service
This is a reminder that breakfast and lunch are free to all students.

Chess Club
Chess Club is today after school in room 202. Come and learn how to play or just watch. Hot pizza will be ready for those who attend. Everyone is welcome.

Fight the Hunger Event
2nd Annual Fight the Hunger Event September 24: The Franklin and Red Smith Football teams are hungry to play Football to help the community. On Saturday, September 24, the two teams will play at West High School for the 2nd annual Fight the Hunger event. There will be two football games played; the 7th grade game will begin at 5:00 pm and the 8th grade game at 6:30 pm.  Franklin and Red Smith will not only compete on the field, but the middle schools will also compete to win a food drive contest. Each school will have a bin set-up at the games for attendees to bring non-perishable food items to support a local pantry.

PBIS

Today is our first PBIS incentive. For just 3 bobcat bucks you can buy a sticker from your first hour teacher to wear a hat all day.

Student Council
Franklin Student Council is looking for members! Come join us for an information meeting on September 26th at 3pm in room 222. Stop and learn all about the great things we are going to do this year! Ask Ms. McKeefry in room 222 or Mrs. Roubal in room 233 for more information!

Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Club
Franklin students, we are excited and ready to begin our second year of Gay Straight Alliance Club here at Franklin Middle School. Our first meeting is Wednesday, September 28th right after school from 2:45-3:45 in Room 219.  Please join us to see what we’re all about and how you can be a part of making a difference at Franklin! If you have any questions please see Ms. Zimmerman or Ms. Gomez

Calling all Future Educators
Have you ever wanted to know what a teacher does all day? Are you thinking about a possible career in education? Would you like to volunteer in classrooms? A new club is forming at Franklin that allows you to have a front row seat to what a teacher’s job entails. If this sounds interesting come to our first informational meeting Tuesday, September 27 at 2:50 in room 214. If you can’t make the meeting, but are interested please see either Mrs. Mellberg in room 214 or Mrs. Gilbride in room 206. We look forward to working with you this year!!

Jazz Band
Attention all Jazzers! Jazz band is starting on Monday! If you play an instrument and are interested in playing Jazz music, please attend our first practice on Monday from 2:45-3:45, right after school! All instruments are welcome! Please see Mr. Baker with any questions.

Volleyball
Coach Casey’s 7th Grade Lady Bobcats lost a close volleyball match against Bayview last night at home. The girls had a rough start but made a comeback at the end and ended up winning 2 games and losing 3. They worked hard and never gave up. Top servers for the Bobcats were Justice Vang and Kenley Knight. Other scoring servers were, Klaudia Becks, Molly Jones, Jimena Robles and Skylar Schultz. Way to go ladies! Keep up the hard work!

Congratulations to all of Coach Porter’s 7th grade team winning their match against Lombardi last night! The girls played hard and were in it to win it! Wonderful serving by many and way to be Alicia Burkes and Taejuana Noyes for some good serves last night! Keep up the hard work and bring it Monday against DePere!

Coach Danica’s 8th grade volleyball team won their match against Lombardi last night, by winning 3 out of 5 games.  Top servers were: Sky Genz and Raina Cannon. The team is getting better and better every match and the girls have great teamwork. Please come cheer us on Monday at home against DePere at 4:00. 

Coach Zelzer’s 8th grade girls lost a close match to Bayview last night. Let’s give props to MaKayla Bonxay for serving like a boss! Very proud of you girls, Coach Zelzer.

Practice tonight will be in the small gym, Yoga Friday with Mrs. Srenaski. Practice ends at 4:00.
