IB Learner Profile Trait
The IB learner profile trait for September is Communicators. We express ourselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups. How will you express yourself confidently and creatively in classes this week? In how many languages can you communicate with others? Could you teach other people how to say a few words in your languages? How can you listen better to understand someone else’s ideas? What can you do to collaborate with others and be a positive role model?
Pictures and IDs
Picture day for those student who have not yet been photographed, or would like to have their photos retaken for a fee of $5.00, will be on Thursday, September 18th. Students will be called down by grade so please make sure to only come when your grade is called to make this process go smoothly. The photographers will be here ready to take pictures right at 7:45 so please make sure to be here on time.
Talent Show
The Franklin Talent Show is about to happen, and rumor has it this is going to be the best one yet! Come on out to the informational meeting on Tuesday, September 11th in Mrs. Rego’s room, which is room 180. So you think you can sing, dance, or have a comedy routine? Are you part of a breakdancing group, cheerleading team or a magician? Stop in at the meeting and see what you need to do to be a part of this amazing show. See Mrs. Rego or Ms. Giguere with any questions.
Student Council
The first Student Council meeting of the school year will be September 13th at 7:00am or 2:40pm, in room 222. Please join us and have some treats! If you were a Student Council member last year, please see Mrs. Roubal or Ms. McKeefry to help hang up meeting signs before the 13th. If you are interested in joining and unable to, please stop and see Mrs. Roubal or Mrs. McKeefry. All students are welcome to join!!!
Garden Club
Hey Franklin students, Garden Club starts Tuesday, September 11! If you are interested in growing plants, flowers, vegetables, making snacks with fresh produce, and making crafts using nature come by room 207 at 3:00 on Tuesday, September 11th! This is a new club for Franklin Middle School students and we hope to see all who are interested!
Freeze Pop Friday
Looks like Friday is going to be a hot one! Cool down by buying a freeze pop at lunch for just 5 Bobcat Bucks! Limit 1 per student and be sure your name is on your Bobcat Bucks.
Card Club
Do you want to learn how to play different card games? The first Cards Club meeting will be on Wednesday, September 12th, from 2:45-3:45 in room 216. Stop by and learn how to improve your strategy and logic by playing cards. Try it out and see what the fun is all about!
School Store
We know you have all been waiting for the School Store to open. Guess what, today is the day! School Store opens after school today at 2:40 until 3:05. Where is the School Store? It is in the hallway between the Bistro and the big gym. Come check us out, we have school supplies, drinks and snacks. We will have a weekly feature and this week it is 4 Mechanical Pencils for a $1.00 and lead refills for $.50.
Homework Huddle
Homework Huddle is available to all students and is a great place to get help on your homework or even just a quiet place to get work finished before you head home for the day. It is located in room 150, across from the security desk. Homework Huddle is available Monday through Thursday from 2:50 to 3:30. There are Franklin teachers present to help you out. This is also a great place to complete assignments on the computer, as they will also be available during this time. During this time, the school electronic policy still applies. Stop by to finish an assignment or stay the whole time and have individual support on your work or a topic you are struggling with. We are here to help! Hope to see you soon.
