We nurture our curiosity, developing skills for inquiry and research. We know how to learn independently and with others. Are you an inquirer? Do you ask lots of questions and then go look for solutions/answers?

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
Today is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty! The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty began on October 17, 1987, in Paris, France, to honor the people living in extreme poverty. In 1993, the United Nations officially recognized October 17 as a day to renew our awareness of the needs across the world and work together eliminate extreme poverty. The theme of this year’s International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is “We can end poverty”

Board Games Club
Chess Club will be next week Thursday, the 27th, after school in room 202. Everyone is welcome and hot pizza will be served.

Future Educators

Attention Future Educators! There will be a meeting at 7 a.m. on Wed. October 19 in room 214. Meet at Door 18 (7th grade entrance) and we let you in. Sweet treats will be provided. If unable to attend please see Mrs. Mellberg or Mrs. Gilbride.

Jazz Band
A reminder to all Jazz Band members we do have jazz band today after school! See Mr. Baker with any questions.

LMC Trivia

The trivia question from last week was:  “What month is Halloween celebrated?” The answer is “October” and the winner is Shauna Dampier.  Please come to the LMC and claim your prize. We had 42 entries and everyone was correct with their answers! It’s time to try a slightly harder trivia question.

The question for this week is: “How long does it take for the Earth to spin once on its axis?” Remember you can use the computers to help you find the answer if you do not know it. Please come into the LMC before school, after school and before your lunch to answer this week’s question and a chance to win a prize.

Talent Show

Tonight is the night for our final talent show dress rehearsal. Please be on stage, in your costume and ready to start at 2:55.  See Miss Giguere or Mrs. Rego with any questions.

Student Council
Interested in being in Student Council? Join Ms. McKeefry and Ms. Roubal Tuesday morning, October 18th at 7am in Room 222. We will be discussing the social and the student council election. Hope to see you there!

Theater Tech Club

A reminder that theater tech club will have a modified meeting today after school. Please see Mr. Baker with any questions.

Volleyball
Coach Casey’s 7th Grade Lady Bobcats Volleyball Team came up short in their final game against Bayport last week. The girls played some of their best volleyball of the season! It was a nail biter that when down to the end. Coach Casey and all of the people in our cheering section were of how hard the ladies worked. They never gave up. Top servers were Justice Vang, Taylor Jooss, Kenley Knight, Molly Jones, Jimena Robles, Isabella Romero, and Claudia Becks. Keep up your hard work in the off season! Thank you to all of the players for being part of our amazing team!
