Chess Club
Chess club is today in the Bistro right after school until 3:45. You do not need to know how to play chess to participate. Bring a friend and have some fun learning how to play chess. Hot pizza will be served.

Congratulations to those students who attended the Red Smith Chess Tournament on Saturday. You did a great job representing the Franklin Team. The next WSCF sponsored chess tournament is Saturday, December 2nd at Lombardi. See you there.  

Art Club
Art club will be held this Thursday after school in room 207 from 3:00 to 4:00.  Anyone can join Art club, you don’t have to be in art class to join Art club! Hope to see you Thursday!

Homework Huddle
Students do you need assistance with homework? The homework huddle is available to you Monday-Thursday from 2:45-3:30 in room 150. Electronics policy applies to homework huddle.  

IB Buzz 
We do NOT have a meeting this Thursday, November 16th. Our next meeting is Monday, November 20th, from 2:45 – 3:45 pm. Please let Mrs. Vraney know if you cannot attend.

Hour of Code
Do you like coding? Then you may want to attend the Hour of Code Event on Wednesday December 6th in the Library Media after school from 2:45-3:45 pm for Franklin Middle School students. The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. We will have a professional programmer speak with the students and then they will have plenty of time to learn and practice coding.  Students can get permission slips in the Library Media Center. Permission slips are due by Friday, December 1st. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Vraney in the LMC.

Donations
Attention students located in the front foyer is the opportunity to donate items to support families of Head Start. Items such as toilet paper, shampoo, dish soap, laundry soap, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, deodorant, and paper toweling are welcomed.

Open Gym for Basketball /Touch Football
There is no open gym for basketball until further notice.  Also, there is no football on the front lawn until further notice as well. 

Show Choir
Students please remember your permission slips for the parade are due today! See you at practice tonight.

Garden Club
Do you have a “Green Thumb?” Do you like to grow flowers, fruits, or vegetables? Well we have just the club for you. In the bistro for the reminder of the week, will be a sign-up sheet if you are interested in being a part of the Garden Club. If you need more information or have questions, please see Mr. Chancellor for details. 

Boys’ Basketball
Coach Gus’ 7th grade boys’ basketball team had a very exciting win last night against Edison, defeating them 29 – 25. Scoring points for the Bobcats were Jacob Sanders with 11, Marlon Padilla added 10, Damario Torres and Logan Hegnet each had 4, and Sean Adams added 2 points. Great teamwork, hustle, and great effort was shown by all. Come support the teams Thursday against Washington!
