Board Game Club and Chess Club
Board Game Club is next Monday after school in room 202. Be sure your club permission slip has been turned into the main office so you can participate. Everyone is welcome and hot pizza will be served.
Chess Club
Join us on Thursday school in room 202. Everyone is welcome and hot pizza will be served. Chess Club and Board Game Club pictures will be taken tomorrow right after school in the small gym. Everyone who has participated in either of these clubs is welcome to be in the pictures. So hurry down to the small gym tomorrow right after school.
Ally Week
Good morning Franklin Staff and Students. We are here to let you know that this week is Ally Week. You might be asking “What is an Ally?” An Ally is a person who speaks out and stands up for a person or group that is targeted and discriminated against. You might also wonder, “Why do we need Ally Week?” Unfortunately, all students are at risk of being bullied, harassed or called names at school. According to From Teasing to Torment: School Climate in America, actual or perceived sexual orientation and gender expression are two of the top three reasons teens report that students are harassed at their schools. We can all make a difference and ensure that Franklin is a safe, comfortable place for everyone regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression! Each day this week Franklin’s Gay Straight Alliance Club will be sharing facts and ways that you can be an Ally so stay tuned!
Green Thumb Club
Calling all Green Thumb Club Members! Please attend a short meeting on Tuesday, November 15th before school at 7:00am or at 2:50 after school in room 206. If you come in the morning, meet by the 7th grade door and you will be let into the building. We will be discussing picture day, and future club plans. If you are unable to attend, talk with Mrs. Gilbride in room 206, before or after school this week.
LMC Trivia
The trivia question from last week was: Which is the hottest planet in the solar system? The answer is “Mercury” and the winner is Vanessa Petersen. Please come to the LMC and claim your prize.
The question for this week is: According to legend, what was the name of King Arthur’s sword? Remember you can use the computers to help you find the answer if you do not know it. Please come into the LMC before school, after school and before your lunch to answer this week’s question and a chance to win a prize.
