Student Council

Student Council is now selling tickets for the Sweetheart Social on February 10th. The social will be from 3-5 after school. You can buy your tickets during lunch hours. Tickets are $2 or 2 cans of food. If you wait until the last minute, ticket prices increase. So buy your tickets today!

ID Sale
ID will be on sale for $3.00. Make sure you have an ID for the social!

Silent Night
West and East will once again be holding their annual Silent Night event where we raise money for McKinney Vento.  So far over 4 years the two schools have raised over $20,000 along with canned food, hygiene products, and other supplies that our students in need can utilize. This year the event will be held at West High on Saturday, February 11th, during the varsity girls' and boys' basketball games. The games start at 5:45. They will have a kid zone which will include games and prizes, costume contest, a bouncy house, and a photo booth. They will have a Silent Auction again and some of the top items are a week's vacation at Blue Harbor Resort in Door County and an autographed Packers helmet. We will also be raffling off baskets. There will be entertainment and a wing eating contest. Admission is a canned food item. This is a fun night and we are raising money for a good cause. We would love to see all of you and your families and students at the event!

The Little Mermaid

Tonight we will be blocking scenes 1-3. Pilot, Eric, Grimsby, King Triton, Sebastian, Seahorse, Mersisters, Flounder, Ariel, Scuttle, Seagulls and the Sea Chorus need to be on stage at 2:50 today.

Battle of the Books Teams
Tomorrow (Wednesday) is our next competition. Are you ready for Battle?

7th grade Book Club

We meet this Thursday during lunch to discuss Life in a Jar. If you need a pass please see Mrs. Vraney.

Supplies Needed
One of our IB groups is making chew toys for the Humane Society. They are in need of materials to make their toys. Preferably denim would be best but if you have anything that would be tough enough for chew toys we will take it. Please bring any old jeans or material to Room 310.

Wrestling Results
Our Franklin wrestling team had their final home meet of the season last night against Parkview and Pulaski. Our wrestlers had a very successful night. Wrestlers winning by points include: D’Andre Mixon with two wins, 10-5 and 10-0, Desiree Mixon with a score of 3-2, Exzavion Shepard with a score of 15-0, Issac Wery with an overtime score of 6-4, and Luis Quinones with a score of 9-1. Zech Loos gave Franklin it's only pin of the night in the 3rd period of his match. Nice job everyone. Next week our Franklin wrestling team will travel to Luxemburg-Casco, to compete against the Spartans and the West De Pere Phantoms.

Box Tops

BOX TOPS are still being collected- and as of right now it looks like Mrs. Ericksen's 7th grade, first hour class is a shoe-in to win this!!! If you don't want Mrs. Ericksen to win, and we all know that none of us want her to, you have to go home and dig through your dry goods and bring in a ton of box tops. This collection competition ends February 2o!!!! Don't let Ericksen's 1st hour win!!!

Honors Band

Congratulations to the 25 students representing Franklin at the Green Bay All-City Honors Band concert last night at the Weidner Center. These amazing students put on a great performance after just 3 rehearsals, and each student demonstrated the hard work and dedication to perform. Congratulations again for an exceptional performance!

GSA
Come and join us today, Wednesday, February 8th after school in Room 219! We are ready to plan our next GSA activity! Please see Ms. Zimmerman or Ms. Gomez with any questions.

Artistic/Leadership Retreat
Each year we send two talented artistic/creative students from each middle school to the Rahr Memorial Forest for the day. Students sign up for artistic/creativity workshops with other talented middle school students in the CESA 7 area to learn about self-advocacy, leadership and to create a learner profile. Our two from Franklin. Please congratulate Paityn Keller & Kalei Phomsaath for being selected.
